They help us learn, communicate with friends, explore the world, and even solve difficult problems. But sometimes, computers can also be very funny—especially when things don’t go the way we expect! In our ICT Club, we often experience small moments that make us laugh and also teach us something new.

Here are some funny computer stories that I hope will entertain you and maybe remind you of your own moments with technology.

1. The Keyboard That Refused to Listen

One day during ICT practice, a classmate kept typing his password, but the computer kept rejecting it. He tried again and again, even blaming the school Wi-Fi. After five minutes of struggle, he finally shouted, “This computer hates me!”

Guess what?
His Caps Lock was on.

The whole class burst into laughter, and from that day, “Check your Caps Lock!” became our club’s number-one rule.

2. When the Mouse Went on Strike

Another time, my friend was dragging the mouse across the table so aggressively that the cursor was dancing wildly on the screen. He thought the computer was “possessed.”

But after a closer look, we discovered a simple problem:
There was a tiny piece of paper stuck under the mouse sensor!

We removed it, and the mouse suddenly behaved like a well-trained soldier. The lesson? Even computers need clean working spaces.

3. The Game That Turned Into a Lecture

One Saturday, a few students were allowed to use the ICT lab for fun learning activities. While trying to open a typing game, someone accidentally clicked on a video titled “Introduction to File Management.”

Instead of a fun game, the computer started explaining folders, directories, and file extensions—in a very serious teacher voice.

The whole room protested loudly:
“Noooooo! Not today!”

We still joke that even when you want to play, the computer wants you to learn.

4. The Computer That Spoke English Too Fast

During a digital literacy lesson, the speaking software was turned on accidentally. When someone clicked on a long paragraph, the computer started reading it so fast that nobody understood a single word.

We paused, stared at each other, and burst into laughter.
For a moment, it felt like the computer had become a rapper.

5. The Mystery of the Missing Document

A student once wrote a whole paragraph, then suddenly shouted, “My work has disappeared!” Everyone stopped and turned.

But the document wasn’t missing at all.
The text was just white, and the background was also white, because someone had changed the text color earlier.

The entire class laughed for a full minute—then we taught him how to change text colors in the formatting menu.

Conclusion

Computers might be smart, but they also give us moments of laughter when we least expect it. Every funny mistake becomes a chance to learn something new. As young digital learners at Rwamurunga Community Secondary School, these small experiences make our ICT journey enjoyable and memorable.

One day, we might become programmers, technicians, or digital leaders—but we will always remember the funny stories that shaped our learning.

By Brian Agaba, S3 – Digital Literacy Skills ICT Club, Rwamurunga Community Secondary School Computers are amazing machines.
